About This Item

This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides a comprehensive and consistent set of guidelines for the definition, recognition, troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic components and systems on in-service commercial aircraft affected by external leakage. Commercial aircraft maintenance personnel continue to have difficulties adequately addressing external hydraulic leakage on aircraft. The reason is thought to be that the instructions to identify, troubleshoot, and determine acceptance of external leakage are scattered between the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Troubleshooting Manuals (TSMs), etc., and which often provide insufficient details and unclear definitions to address these issues. To overcome these difficulties, this document has been generated to provide a comprehensive and consistent set of guidelines for identification, troubleshooting, and rectification of external hydraulic systems leakage.
