This procurement specification covers aerospace quality safety cable kits consisting of safety cables and ferrules made from the same corrosion and heat resistant steels and a nickel base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering system as follows:

UNS S32100 - Corrosion and heat resistant steel (AMS5689)

UNS N06600 - Nickel base alloy (AMS5687)

UNS N06625 - Nickel Alloy, Corrosion Resistant (AMS5666)
The requirements for installation practices are also specified.
This specification was revised to remove installation instructions (incorporated into AS567). Paragraph 3.5 was changed to reference AS567 for the Installation Instructions. Revise 0.020 diameter cable to 0.022 diameter cable and add requirements for 0.062 wire. Delete Table 1 (renumber and relocate remaining tables). Update to References section to add AS567, AS3618, AS3619, AS3655, and AMS5666. General editorial updates.
