About This Item

This specification covers a premium aircraft-quality corrosion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, mechanical tubing, flash welded rings in the solution heat treated condition (See 8.4), and stock for forging, flash welded rings, or heading. AMS5622F identifies a new procedure for ordering in the precipitation heat treated condition (1.1.1), includes a restriction on bar being cut from plate (3.3.1.4), revises macrostructure requirements (3.5.1.1), clarifies thickness of bars (3.5.2.2), revises Heat Treatment (3.4) clarifies tensile orientation for transverse tests (3.5.2.2.1.3), and revises Reports (4.4).
