The foundation specification (AMS1424) and the category specifications (AMS1424/1 and AMS1424/2) cover deicing/anti-icing materials in the form of a fluid. This document is revised to comply with SAE’s Five-Year Review policy. AMS1424M is replaced by AMS1424S. Since references are made to specific section numbers of AMS1424S, wording is added to allow the use of the corresponding section of future versions of AMS1424 when issued. Reference to ARP1917, which was canceled, is deleted. Harmonization editorial modifications are made throughout.
