About This Item

This foundation specification (AMS1428K) and its associated category specifications (AMS1428/1 and AMS1428/2) cover three types of deicing/anti-icing fluids, each in the form of a non-Newtonian fluid. This document has been revised to update references to ARP4737 (discontinued) with AS6285. The precautionary note from 3.1.5 has been removed, as all fluids are now required to be colored. Sections 4.2.2 and 4.5.1.2 were updated to clarify periodic testing requirements per the requalification working group recommendations. The labeling and purchase document specifications in 5.1.2 and 9.4 were also revised so that they more accurately reflect the additions of AMS1428/1 and AMS1428/2.
