About This Item

This specification covers a fluorosilicone (FVMQ) rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. This specification is not recommended for use in the manufacture of O-rings, O-ring Cord, or Molded in Place gaskets. For the manufacture of O-rings, O-ring Cord, or Molded in Place gasketsthe use of AMS-R-25988, Type I, Class 1, Grade 40 is recommended. Five year review and update of specification. Some Technical Changes have been made to better align with the requirements of AMS-R-25988 Type II, Class 1, Grade 40 in preparation for the planned future obsolescence of that specification. Where the Physical Property requirements differed between the two specifications, the more stringent requirement was used. Where additional requirements/testing were present in the AMS-R-25988 specification, they were incorporated into this specification.
