About This Item

This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of investment castings. AMS 5344E has been revised to remove the requirement to test for and certify tantalum, allowing to cool to room temperature after homogenization heat treatment, remove contradictory statements that implied tensile property evaluations were to be conducted on a master heat basis, perform non-destructive inspection and special processes in accordance with applicable ASTM or AMS in lieu of the previously required MIL specs, update reporting requirements and add new provisions for serialization, and is a Five Year Review and update of this specification.
