About This Item

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) describes training and approval of personnel performing certain heat-treating and associated operations that could have a material impact on the properties of materials being heat treated. It also recommends that only approved personnel perform or monitor the functions listed in Table 1. ARP1962B is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of this specification with changes to purpose (1.1), summary of requirements (1.3), application (1.4), training program (3.2, 3.2.1, and 3.2.3), Table 1, Table 2, approved guidelines (3.3.1 and subparagraphs), Approval (3.3.2 and subparagraphs), job classifications (3.4 and subparagraphs), and Table 3.
