About This Item

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides the criteria to be applied in order to determine compatibility with each other of an air cargo pallet and an air cargo pallet net airworthiness approved under either NAS 3610 [TSO C90c] or AS36100 [TSO pending] performance and testing requirements. Introduction of new AS36100, Air cargo unit load devices - Performance requirements and testing parameters [TSO pending] may result in uncertainty for some operators as to pallet or nets approved on the basis of the new TSO being, or not, compatible with those previously in service and approved on the basis of previous NAS 3610 Revision 10 [TSO C90c]. The present new ARP therefore aims at providing carriers and operators with compatibility status of pallets and nets approved based on, respectively, AS36100 and NAS 3610 requirements. It does not deal with compatibility of former NAS 3610 units with each other, which is defined in that document as separately maintained by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).
