About This Item

This data dictionary provides definitions for quantities, measurement units, reference systems, measurands, measurements, and quantity modalities commonly used in the command and control of cyber-physical systems. A cyber-physical system is an engineered system that is built from, and depends upon, the seamless integration of computational algorithms and physical components. Cyber-physical systems are often interconnected via data links and networks. The term encompasses intelligent vehicles and devices that operate in any environment, including robotic and autonomous systems. This revision provides further definitions and concepts to support AS6512 Revision B and various other stakeholders. Included for the first time in this revision are defining elements for geometrics and quaternion rotations. To provide greater data modeling flexibility, statistical parameters have been removed from coordinate reference systems, as well as tables of coordinate operations. Section 4, however, provides mathematical guidance on these topics. Finally, the coordinate reference systems have been consolidated to support both freefall and non-freefall acceleration references where applicable.
