About This Item

This specification covers the requirements for one type of tiedown fitting for installation in the floors of aircraft. AS7092 does not technically define the product and refers for this purpose to AN 7516, a technical standard out of SAE jurisdiction. When reviewing AS7092, the AGE-2A Subcommittee was unable to identify its current use. Therefore, it will not ensure continued maintenance of this standard, which is hereby placed under inactive (noncurrent) status, implying it reflects dated technology and is not applicable to new designs. This does not affect conformity of any in service models that might have been earlier designed to AS7092 and AN 7516. In accordance with SAE Aerospace Council Guidelines § 7.4.4, noncurrent status can be revised if users or producers express a need for it with SAE.
