This SAE Recommended Practice establishes minimum performance requirements for new pneumatic valves when tested in accordance with the test procedure outlined in SAE J1409. The performance requirements will include: a Input-output performance b Leakage characteristics c Low temperature performance d Elevated temperature performance e Corrosion resistance performance f Endurance testing g Structural integrity This document has been updated in keeping with the five-year review process. A rewrite was completed to align with updates to the SAE J1409 Recommended Practice document. Changes included removing the number of cycles for the Endurance Test sections which were moved to SAE J1409 and correcting the performance requirements of Vibration Testing Section 12.
