This SAE Recommended Practice provides procedures and methods for testing service, spring applied parking, and combination brake actuators with respect to durability, function, and environmental performance. A minimum of five test units designated A, B, C, D, and E are to be used to perform all tests per 1.1 and 1.2. The changes to this document include: Added Section 4.3—Leakage—Disc Brake Caliper Flange Sea Added Section 7—Minimum Pressure Response—Service Chamber Added Section 10.3—Low Temp Leakage—Disc Brake Caliper Flange Seal Added Section 13.2—Low Temp Min Pressure Response—Service Chamber To provide test procedures appropriate for Actuators used with Air Disc Brakes General editorial changes to provide consistent outline format and numbering scheme
