About This Item

This SAE Standard specifies requirements and design guidelines for electrical wiring systems of less than 50 V and cable diameters from 0.8 to 19 mm2 used on off-road, self-propelled earthmoving machines as defined in SAE J1116 and agricultural tractors as defined in ASAE S390. This Standard is being revised to provide a specific reference to ASAE S390 for agricultural tractors. This change is necessary as the intent is to retain agricultural tractors in the scope of this document. This is required as a future revision will be proposed for the removal of agricultural tractors from the scope of SAE J1116. In addition, the Standard is being corrected to reflect the current nomenclature of categories as defined in SAE J1116; 2004.
