About This Item

This document extends SAE J3068 and SAE J3068/1 to include multiple ways to control charging and discharging to an EPS, managed charging, and other related capabilities. Capabilities are designed to support both site electrical limits and power grid management. SAE J3068/2 adds a new Protocol Version (definitions of signals and the associated logical rules) to SAE J3068 to add support for bidirectional and four-quadrant power transfer conforming to SAE J3072 and IEEE 1547. Capabilities include (depending on authorization) control of real and reactive AC power while charging or discharging to support either site electrical limitations or for power grid management.
