About This Item

This SAE Standard covers complete general and dimensional specifications for the various types of lubrication fittings and related threaded components intended for general application in the automotive and allied fields. Cadmium plating is no longer allowed for environmental reasons. Removed reference to cadmium plating in the finish (3.9) note and changed the salt spray resistance to 72 hours from 50 hours as is now the requirement in all other S1 documents. No other changes are proposed as we do not have a lubrication fitting expertise in S1.
