This SAE Recommended Practice applies to all commercial, self-propelled, or towed motor vehicles which transport property or passengers in interstate commerce in which the gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating exceeds 4550 kg (10 000 lb). This revision of SAE J703 is to update it to the current requirements of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Parts 393.65 and 393.67.
