About This Item

To provide specifications for lighting and marking of industrial wheeled equipment whenever such equipment is operated or traveling on a highway. This document was previously stabilized but was determined as useful and worth updating. Add SAE J586, SAE J1029, SAE J1967, SAE J2040, and SAE J2261 to references. Remove cancelled documents SAE J725 and SAE J943. Add ANSI/ASAE S276, S277, S279, and ISO 12509 as related publications. Reformatted Section 4, adding subsection titles. Added Requirement for Side Marking as section 4.5. Vibration test requirements for off-road machinery applications need to be added, but their appropriate place is in SAE J94 and SAE J95. Automotive vibrations specifications are on vertical axis only and cover milder acceleration values than what is appropriate for off-road machinery. Dust test specifications will be added as well.
